Bums take 2 of 3 vs. Rockford

The Beach Bums came out on the winning end of two of three straight tough pitching match-ups at Wuerfel Park against the Rockford Riverhawks over the past three days.  After dropping the first game 3-0, the Beach Bums won 1-0 in 11 innings and 4-1 yesterday.  Outstanding pitching performances from Brett Bostelman and Bryan Rembisz were the highlight, and the bullpen also pitched well - James Ledford, Jared Locke, and Ted Gjeldum all tossed scoreless innings in the series.

Windy City comes into town tonight for a 3-game set after taking 2 of 3 at Kalamazoo.  KZOO's losses combined with the Beach Bums' wins have provided a little more space a top the East Division standings as the Beach Bums now enjoy a 3 game lead over the second place Kings.

See you at the park!  GO BUMS!

  1. Pitching looks great. Just need to get Dillard and Cole on track a little bit. Ive always said you win with Pitching and Defense up the middle, Catcher, 2nd, Short and CF. Youve done a great job on these 4 positions defensivly as well as with the Pitching staff. Great job Jason building this team and also hiring two great coaches in both Cahill and Sexon. Go Bums!!!

  3. My wife, two year old daughter, and myself attended our first Beach Bums game this past Friday and really enjoyed it. All the employees had a smile on their face, the food was better than expected, and the every half inning entertainment was just a lot of fun. Keep up the great work and we're going to try and make it back at least a couple more times this summer.
